Your portfolio was the one I chose freely. I chose it because I am a sucker for love stories, and figured I would like to read some. Your overall blog page is nice, and I even like the font but it is just a little harder on the eye. It reminds me of comic sans that I used to write my papers in in elementary school, it’s cool but a little hard to focus on. Your story was enjoyable to read, and I liked the outcome. I thought it was weird he did not want to go back and see his kids, but after reading your author's note it made sense that you left it like the original story. I think there is a typo you spelled Fairie in the author's note and then spelt it Faerie in the story. I like love stories a lot so I am sure I will be back to read some more!
ReplyDeleteHey Christine,
ReplyDeleteGreat portfolio so far! I really like your blog's color scheme. It makes it a lot easier to read on my old computer! I really like how you connected the emotions of the characters. The one thing that will make or break a story is if the reader can't connect emotionally to the characters. You have done a great job of doing that! The one thing that would make your story pop even more is if it had a little more dialogue throughout. The best way to connect with the characters is to read what they are actually saying. As for the formatting, I like that you put spaces between paragraphs making it a lot easier to read! Great job and I look forward to reading more of your love stories!
Initially, I really liked how simple you laid out your portfolio. I liked how you listed out the stories with their summaries, and I think that you chose an easy to read font that is also interesting to look at. I did, however, think that it would be a bit more aesthetically pleasing if there were some sort of photo attached to it. Something that captured the overall sentiment of all the stories would work really well. Your story of Pyramus and Thisbe was refreshing. The original is a little impersonal. By making the point of view omniscient, it really allowed the reader to get into the head space of the characters. The dialogue that you wrote did a good job of furthering that as well. The photo that you chose for the story went well with the story. Not only that, but it also went well with the entire layout of your blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your portfolio, because, well lets be honest, I am the typical girl who is a sucker for love stories and romance.
When first looking at your portfolio, I really like your colors and fonts. Everything you have picked is creative yet still easy to read. I am very picky about the sizes and colors of fonts, but yours are very easy on the eyes.
Once again, I love anything that has to do with love or romance, so your portfolio topic immediately caught my attention. I also like that within your stories, you really connect with your reader on an emotional level. My portfolio has a bit of a “love story” theme, but not quite as much as yours. I really like yours and think you have done a very good job. I did not see any major grammar issues within your stories, and did not see anything that seemed out of place. Overall, your portfolio is coming along great!
